Jamil Kfouri
From the team that reurbanised the Vale do Anhangabaú to the garden of a building in the Jardins: a landscape architect of public scale, with work published in Japan, France and Germany.
Who he is
Jamil José Kfouri is an architect, landscape architect and visual artist, born in Uchoa, in the interior of São Paulo state, in 1947. He graduated from the Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da USP in 1972 and completed his specialisation in Landscape Design in 1980, at the same school. His career began in public service: he was an architect in the Landscape Sector of the Project Department of the USP Construction Fund (Fundusp) between 1972 and 1974, and of the Parks and Green Areas Sector of the Planning Department of the Mauá municipal government between 1974 and 1976. He also taught at Universidade Mackenzie (1975–1977), at PUC-Paraná (1982–1983) and at PUC-Campinas (1983).
In 1981 he joined the winning team of the public competition for the reurbanisation of the Vale do Anhangabaú, in São Paulo, run by the City in partnership with the Instituto de Arquitetos do Brasil, alongside architect Jorge Wilheim and landscape architect Rosa Grena Kliass. Today he runs the firm Jamil José Kfouri Paisagismo.

- Parque Setorial of São José do Rio Preto, with Mirthes Baffi — an ensemble covering the landscape and environmental projects for the Praça Cívica, the Parque da Represa, the Parque da Maria Benta and the entire Preto river valley up to the border with Mirassol (1982).
- Landscape design for Palazzo Ducale, by SKR, in Jardim Paulista — a building by Arqdonini built between 1997 and 2001.
