Who they are
Patrícia Martinez is an architect and urban planner trained at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie and runs PMA — Patricia Martinez Arquitetura, a São Paulo practice based in Itaim Bibi. The house’s work is marked by an essentialism that values the relationship between people and space, and by a careful reading of context, scale and the sensations each environment should evoke.
Its output covers houses and apartments, corporate projects, hotels, shops and even the scale of product design. In luxury retail, the house has amassed projects for Gucci, Valentino, Prada, Tiffany and Bottega Veneta, as well as work with design brands such as Ornare and Dpot.
Language
- Style: purity and simplicity, straight lines, minimalist and dynamic environments, with a stated affinity for Scandinavian and Japanese references and a closeness to the world of art.
- Method: Patrícia follows the project from the first sketch to the completion of the work, with a team that creates, executes and cares for the detail — the promise is that the initial vision arrives intact at the end.
- Motto: elegance and subtlety above ostentation.
Reference works
