Atibaia
The climate resort of the highlands: high-end country houses and gated communities a little over an hour from São Paulo, via the Fernão Dias motorway.
The neighbourhood’s story
Atibaia is a municipality in inland São Paulo state, founded in the 17th century and officially recognised as a Climate Resort (Estância Climática) since 1965, which became one of the most traditional second-home addresses for São Paulo’s elite — favoured by its highland climate and direct access via the Fernão Dias motorway, about an hour from São Paulo. The town concentrates dozens of mid- and high-end gated condominiums and subdivisions, many aimed at weekend houses, alongside older smallholdings and country plots.
Among the most traditional condominiums is Estância Parque Atibaia, on the banks of the Fernão Dias itself, with decades of history and club infrastructure.
