Who they are
Carolina Proto is an architect and founder of Estudio Obra Prima, born in 2005 in Punta del Este, Uruguay, and now also active in Brazil — with a São Paulo base opened in 2020. The firm works on residences, hotels, and cultural and commercial spaces, treating architecture, interior design and landscape as a single narrative, with a multidisciplinary team. Its language starts from a close relationship with each client and respect for each place’s context, with projects spread mainly across South America and also present in Europe and the United States.
Language and signature
Fine natural materials, sober lines and integration with nature. The studio seeks to bring out the qualities of each site, harmonising landscape and contemporary architecture, with a focus on formal simplicity, comfort and sustainability.
