Dina Melaragno

A house architect: more than thirty years of São Paulo high-end residential work, from classic to contemporary, almost always inside the developer — not in a signature studio.

Who she is

Dina Melaragno is an architect based in São Paulo. Her documented output sits within the city’s high-end residential market, and her most visible career path is an internal one: she is the architect who leads the architecture team at the developer Exto, which states it has worked with her since the company’s founding and credits her with more than thirty years of experience in high-end projects. It is a different model from the signature studio — the architecture is born inside the house that builds it, and her name appears in the developments’ technical sheet, not under her own brand.

Before that, and outside Exto, she signed the project for Place Royale, in Perdizes, delivered by Cyrela in 2011 — four seven-storey towers with a classic-style façade, alongside interiors by Patricia Anastassiadis and landscaping by Benedito Abbud.

No independent studio, website or start date for her career was found in open sources; what is known of her career comes from the developments’ technical sheets and the institutional material of the developer she works for.

Language

  • Style: moves between registers without settling on one — classic façade at Place Royale, contemporary single-tower design at Scène Vila Romana. The floor plan is the common thread, not a fixed style.
  • Method and signature: design conceived from the resident’s point of view, with a declared focus on well-being and the family profile; long-programme floor plans (private social hall, home theatre, panoramic terrace, gourmet space) and a willingness to change the structure to fit the use.
  • Awards: (none found).

Landmark works

  • Place Royale, in Perdizes — four towers, 69 units, classic façade (Cyrela, 2011).
  • Scène Vila Romana, on Rua Catão — single 24-storey tower (Exto, 2016).
