Roberto Kepecs
A Perdizes office that designs the residential building of its own neighbourhood — thirty years of neighbourhood architecture along the Perdizes–Pacaembu–Vila Romana axis.
Who they are
Roberto Kepecs Arquitetura was set up in October 1996 and is run by architect Roberto Carlos Kepecs. The office operates on Rua Campevas, 555, in Perdizes — a few blocks from most of what it designs.
It is the least visible and most characteristic profile of São Paulo’s residential architecture: the design practice that serves developers in the area, knows the zoning code by heart and resolves the twenty- to thirty-unit building without ever appearing in a magazine. Its output shows up in the municipal registry, in listings and on construction-site signs — not in a portfolio.
In the archive, it signs Contemplare Pacaembu, in Pacaembu.
Language
- Style: an established-neighbourhood residential building, of conventional layout and good floor plan — the design serves the resident, not the photograph.
- Materials and signature: the signature is territoriality. The office, the works and the clients all live within the same two-kilometre radius, along the Perdizes–Pacaembu–Vila Romana axis, and the architecture converses with the height limit and the tree cover already there.

Landmark works
- Contemplare Pacaembu, in Pacaembu — authorship recorded in the municipal approval permit (2005 and 2006 vintages), delivered in 2010.
