History

By the builder Elias Victor Nigrii, the same firm behind Castelbiancoi, with a design by Itamar Berezin Arquitetura e Urbanismoi, Edifício Dante Alighieri is a very-high-standard building on Alameda Itu, in the heart of the Jardinsi, steps from Av. Paulistai, Oscar Freirei and the Conjunto Nacionali. The name honours the Italian poet Dante Alighieri.

Architecture and aesthetics

Designed by Itamar Berezin Arquitetura e Urbanismoi, the building resolves the high-end brief through width rather than height: there are eight storeys on a 1,812 m² plot with 31 metres of frontage, and it is this wide base that supports floor plans of 502 to 805 m² with a single flat per floor. The grammar is that of São Paulo’s high-end living of the 2000s — a porte-cochère at the entrance, an armoured concierge, a private hall per floor, central heating and a full generator —, where distinction shows up as much in the infrastructure and the arrival protocol as in the design.

Jardim Paulista: the address

Alameda Itu, at number 593, sits on a block of school and park: Colégio Dante Alighierii is under a hundred metres away and Trianoni just over one hundred and fifty — a public green space of real size that, in practice, doubles as the front garden. It is the stretch of Jardim Paulistai that serves Avenida Paulistai without living on it: Estação Trianon-MASPi and MASPi are about half a kilometre away, Parque Prefeito Mário Covasi just over three hundred metres, and the alameda itself remains residential. It is the address for those who want school within walking distance, a park on the corner and the avenue one block away.
