History

By Idea!Zarvosi, Samanea is presented as “a manifesto of belonging”: the meeting point between what endures and what blooms. The name comes from Samanea saman, the tree that gives the project its soul, and the proposal is one of biophilic architecture — not a garden applied to architecture, but an architecture born from the garden. The design is by AO Architecture Officei, by Greg Bousquet, with landscaping by Rodrigo Oliveirai.

• Concept: biophilic architecture — greenery as a sensory, atmospheric and emotional experience, not as decoration.
• Curiosities: the sales gallery is not a traditional show flat, but the “Galeria Samanea”, a cultural space open to the neighbourhood, with Café Sagui (by chef Cesar Costa, a Michelin Guide green star), a 3D projection dome and a film programme.

Architecture and aesthetics

Designed by AO Architecture Officei (ARCHITECTS OFFICE), founded by Greg Bousquet — an architect trained in Paris and co-founder of Triptyque —, with façades facing Rua Francisco Leitão and Henrique Schaumann. The landscaping by Rodrigo Oliveirai, an agronomist specialising in urban tree planting, drives the biophilic reading that structures the building.

Pinheirosi is one of São Paulo’s liveliest axes — the city’s creative hub for food, art and street-level shops, served by the underground on Line 4 – Yellow and neighbouring Faria Limai. Rua Francisco Leitão, between Henrique Schaumann and the heart of the neighbourhood, combines Pinheiros’s buzz with the calm of a residential street.
