History

Outeiro das Brisas has established itself as one of the most secluded beach addresses in southern Bahia, atop a cliff roughly thirty metres above the sea, between the villages of Trancoso and Caraíva. The development covers approximately a thousand hectares and is organised, in practice, into three condominiums with high-end residences and leisure infrastructure amid the forest. The community formed largely with São Paulo buyers seeking a slice of Bahian tranquillity, and the place became well known enough to become, in itself, a reference for the region — to the point of housing guesthouses and a small services centre within its boundaries.

Praia do Espelhoi, in Porto Seguro, is recognised as one of Brazil’s most beautiful beaches: coloured cliffs, natural pools revealed at low tide and a landscape that changes with every hour of the day. It lies between Trancoso and Caraíva, in a stretch of the Discovery Coast that the absence of large hotel structures has kept preserved. Outeiro das Brisas occupies the strip of cliff above the sea, and it is precisely the difficulty of access — about an hour and a half’s drive from Porto Seguro — that sustains the place’s seclusion.
