Le Palais

History

Built by ACHi with Barbara Engenhariai, Le Palais is a 2006 classic in Vila Nova Conceiçãoi, a few metres from Parque Ibirapuerai and near Praça Pereira Coutinhoi. With one apartment per floor, it offers spacious layouts and full leisure facilities, anchored a stone’s throw from the greenery.

Architecture and aesthetics

A high-end classic in a tall, slender tower: twenty-one storeys, one apartment per floor, three lifts for twenty-two families — a level of service that is practically no longer built. The geometry of the plot explains the design: 1,806 sq m of land with only 35 metres of frontage, a narrow front and a long back, which push the building upward and concentrate the whole programme on a single floor plate. In the floor plan, the glazed balcony is the finishing touch of the noble face — it is onto this that the living and dining rooms open. Design by Itamar Berezini.

Vila Nova Conceição: the address

Rua Inajaroba is one of the short side streets in the heart of Vila Nova Conceiçãoi, with no shops at its doorstep and yet only a few steps from everything the neighbourhood usually does. From number 43 it is two hundred and thirty-nine metres to Parque Ibirapuerai, two hundred and thirty-three to the Saturday market and one hundred and forty-nine to Maple Beari — park, market and school within a block and a half. It’s the kind of address where the street is quiet precisely because the activity is always one corner away.
