The second generation of the Borges family on the Costa Verde: from the Hotel do Frade to the resort in Mangaratiba, with marinas, a farm and an inn in Paraty.
Who it is
The Grupo Portobello was born in 1987, when Carlos Jardim Borges founded the Portobello Resort e Safári in Mangaratiba. He is the son of Carlos de Souza Gomes Borges, a pioneer of the resort segment in Brazil and creator of the Hotel do Frade, in Angra dos Reis — today the FRAD.E condominium. He is, therefore, the second generation of a family that practically invented the Brazilian resort on the Costa Verde.
Besides the resort, the group brings together the Pousada Porto Imperial, in the historic centre of Paraty, the Marina Portobello, the Marina Porto Imperial and the Fazenda Portobello. Around the Mangaratiba hotel operation grew the residential condominium Portobello Mangaratiba.
