Sabel
Founded in 1984 by an architect, Sabel pioneered high-end developments in São Paulo's north zone and in the Riviera de São Lourenço — and signs the buildings that bear its own name.
Who they are
The story begins in 1984, when architect and entrepreneur Abel Rocha founds Abel Rocha Imóveis. The following year, with businessman Samuel Freitas joining, the company is renamed Sabel Imóveis — a contraction of the two names — and strings together a sequence of developments that has not stopped since. In 1986 the company begins investing in the Riviera de São Lourenço, getting ahead of the market on a coastline that was not yet what it is today.
The declared philosophy is one of partnership: Sabel works alongside prestigious companies and respected professionals, and considers this essential. The partnership that most defined it began in 1993, with engineer Pedro Labat, of Labat — a pair that came to work together in sales, construction and development, and that signs a good part of the firm’s São Paulo portfolio. In 1999, with Paulo Cesar de Lemos, Monte Carlo Incorporações is born, focused on Alphaville.
It was a pioneer in launching high-end residential and commercial buildings in São Paulo’s north zone — territory that, at the time, had no product of that calibre. Today it totals more than seventy delivered developments, spread across the capital, the Riviera and Alphaville, and holds two Master Imobiliário Awards: in 2016, for The Point, in the north zone; in 2019, for the San Sebastián Residence Service, in the Riviera.
Product vision
- Positioning: high-end residential, commercial and hospitality developments, strongly concentrated in the capital’s north zone (Santana, Cantareira, Braz Leme) and on the coast. Sabel Pacaembu is the geographic exception that proves the method: Perdizes, on the edge of Pacaembu, with one apartment per floor.
- Method: a fixed construction partnership. Since 1993, the development has been Sabel’s and the construction has been Labat‘s — the two names appear together in a long sequence of addresses, from Santana to Paraíso, via Santa Cecília and Perdizes.
- Brand in the product: the company names developments after itself — Sabel I, Sabel II, Sabel V, Sabel Trade Center, Sabel Higienópolis and Sabel Pacaembu — a practice that permanently ties the developer’s reputation to the address.
- Recognition: two Master Imobiliário Awards, the most coveted in the sector.
Launches
- Sabel Pacaembu — Perdizes, a single twenty-four-storey tower with one apartment per floor, built by Labat.
- Sabel Higienópolis, Sabel I, Sabel II, Sabel V and Sabel Trade Center, in the same self-named lineage, outside the archive’s scope.
- The Point (Master Imobiliário Award 2016) and San Sebastián Residence Service, in the Riviera de São Lourenço (Master Imobiliário Award 2019).
