Balneário Camboriú
Not a São Paulo neighbourhood: it's the city in Santa Catarina that decided to grow upwards. Brazil's most vertical waterfront, home to the country's two tallest buildings.
The neighbourhood’s story
Balneário Camboriú has the most recognisable silhouette on the Brazilian coast: a continuous wall of towers facing a crescent-shaped beach, between Barra Norte and Barra Sul. The city turned height into an economic project — and the market responded with a vertical race that brought international design labels to the waterfront.
The tallest chapter of that race is Yachthouse by Pininfarina, in Barra Sul: two 81-storey towers that the CTBUH confirmed, in May 2024, as Brazil’s tallest buildings, at 294.1 and 294 metres. The development is by Pasqualotto & GT, with design by Pininfarina — the same Turin house that designs Ferraris and that has made Brazil its leading residential market in the world.
Barra Sul, where the Rio Camboriú meets the sea, is the newest and most expensive vector: it concentrates the marinas, nautical access and the new generation of signature towers, with the Atlantic Forest of the hill behind and the sea in front.

The surrounding area
- Clubs: club life happens inside the towers themselves — home clubs of thousands of square metres with heated pools, courts, a cinema and their own restaurant; outside them, the marinas and yacht clubs of Barra Sul.
- Schools: the reference private-school network of the Itajaí Valley, along the Balneário Camboriú–Itajaí–Camboriú axis.
- Dining and lifestyle: Avenida Atlântica and Barra Sul concentrate the fine dining, marinas and hospitality; the city is the country’s southern summer lifestyle hub.
- Parks: the Atlantic Forest of the hills that enclose the bay, Parque Unipraias, and the wilder beaches to the south, linked by the Interpraias.
