Maison Catherine

History

Maison Catherine is the work of Zaboi and forms part, in the developer’s own portfolio, of the group of buildings it has delivered in Jardinsi — alongside Maison Sophiei, Maison Joliei and Maison Josephinei. Zabo is a São Paulo boutique developer with more than thirty years in business and the rare habit of developing with its own capital: few addresses at a time, always on the most prestigious blocks, always with the same design vocabulary. The “Maison” line, named with feminine names, is its most recognisable mark and runs across the entire prime corridor, from Jardinsi to Vila Nova Conceiçãoi — where Maison Madeleinei stands. The year the building was completed is not agreed upon among the available market sources and, for that reason, this fact sheet does not fix a delivery year.

• Concept: large floor area and a private arrival on an alameda plot in the Jardins — the Zabo standard, in which exclusivity is settled in the lobby, before the door even opens.
• Curiosities: Zaboi returned to Alameda Francai more than once. Besides this address, at number 801, it built Maison Helena, at number 1633 on the same alameda — two names from the same collection separated by eight blocks of a single street.

Architecture and aesthetics

The gesture that defines the building is in the arrival: each unit has a private lobby, served by two social lifts — the family steps out of the lift already inside its own landing. The floor plan in circulation, of 268 m², is broad and laid out to draw in natural light through the façade, with the living room integrated with the dining area and the private wing reduced to two very generous suites: the master with a walk-in closet and an adjoining sitting room, the second designed for a guest or a home office. There are five bathrooms for two bedrooms — a ratio that only exists when the project was made for someone who treats floor area as social space, not as a bedroom count. The architectural authorship is not documented in any public source and is not attributed here.

Jardim Paulista: the address

Jardim Paulistai is the neighbourhood where São Paulo learned to live well and never unlearned it. Alameda Francai runs residential and tree-lined through the heart of Jardinsi, and number 801 falls on the middle stretch — close enough to Parque Tenente Siqueira Camposi, Avenida Paulistai and Estação Trianon-MASPi to settle the day in the city on foot or in minutes, and far enough from through-traffic roads for the block to remain quiet. Rua Oscar Freirei, Colégio Dante Alighierii and Club Athletico Paulistanoi round out the radius of daily life. It is an established address: nothing here depends on future construction.
