History

From Portei, with design and decoration by JJ Abrão Arquitetura e Decoraçãoi, the Amadeo Modigliani Residencial carries in its name a tribute to the Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani. In Altos do Tatuapéi, it anchors itself through the scale of its units (one per floor, occupying the entire storey) and a club-style leisure deck, in one of the most consolidated areas of the East Zone, a stone’s throw from Anália Francoi.

Architecture and aesthetics

A single tower, thirty-one storeys, one family per floor plate — and a plot of 3,793 m², with 91 metres of frontage, to house it. The design decision lies in that disproportion: the tower occupies a fraction of the block and returns the rest as open ground, which is what allows a tennis court and a semi-Olympic pool to sit inside an urban condominium without squeezing either. In height, the logic turns inward: 425 m² of full floor per residence, with no neighbour on the landing and no shared wall, with a fireplace, terrace and whirlpool bath in the master suite. Architecture and decoration came off the same drawing board — that of J.J. Abrãoi — which gives the building the coherence of someone who designed the outside and the inside in the same conversation, in the sober language of São Paulo’s high-end architecture of the early 2010s.

Vila Gomes Cardim: the address

Vila Gomes Cardimi is the stitch between the two most prestigious addresses in the East Zone: it borders Altos do Tatuapéi on one side and Jardim Anália Francoi on the other, and lives off the infrastructure of both without carrying the density of either. Rua Antônio Camardo runs through this residential core, and what sets this stretch of it apart are two rail networks within walking distance: Estação Carrãoi, on the underground’s Line 3 – Red, just over two hundred metres away, and Estação Itapurai, on the CPTM, under four hundred. From here you reach the centre without changing lines. Within the same short radius are CERETi, the Tatuapéi public sports park, the Friday market and the Rede D’Or São Luiz Anália Franco hospital; Shopping Anália Francoi and Shopping Metrô Tatuapéi are minutes away by car.
