History
By Porte Engenharia e Urbanismo, with architecture by Königsberger Vannucchi, Helen is one of the developer’s largest projects, in Altos do Tatuapé, anchored close to Shopping Anália Franco and Parque CERET. It carries Porte’s technical signature, with a strong focus on automation and acoustic comfort.
Architecture and aesthetics
A single tower of thirty-four floors on a 3,334 m² plot with just eleven metres of frontage — a lot that is narrow at the street and long into the block, a geometry that pushes the volume upwards because there is no frontage to spread it across. There are thirty-five units for thirty-four floors: the sums point to one residence per floor, and that is where the 374 m² floor plan with four suites and the 669 m² penthouse come from. Königsberger Vannucchi works the façade in a contemporary, restrained register, with no cut-out competing with the slender proportion the plot imposed. The decision that most distinguishes the building, however, cannot be seen from the pavement: tablet-controlled home automation and automatic blinds delivered as standard, central vacuum and acoustic treatment of slabs and pipework — infrastructure built into the construction, not added afterwards. The interiors and landscaping projects are not publicly documented and, therefore, are not attributed here.

Tatuapé: the address
Two names for the same address
The plot sits on the border between Tatuapé and Vila Gomes Cardim, and both names are legitimate. The postcode registers Vila Gomes Cardim; the high-end market treats the address as Tatuapé. This entry adopts the name in common use and keeps the other for anyone searching by it.
At number 858, Rua Itapeti already borders Anália Franco, and the defining fact of the address is the distance to the railway: Itapura Station is a hundred and twenty metres away, practically on the corner — an unusual condition for São Paulo’s high end, which is almost always built far from the station. The surroundings are those of a mature, walkable neighbourhood: a street market less than two hundred metres away, Parque CERET at six hundred, schools and a conservatory in the same walk, and Shopping Anália Franco with the area’s cluster of schools and healthcare a little over a kilometre away. It is the face of Tatuapé that does not need a car for everyday life: those who live here use the whole neighbourhood without leaving a one-kilometre radius, and save the long journeys for what truly requires crossing the city.
