Rio Jeribatuba
In Vila Madalena, at the start of Rua Morás, a tower from 2000 with 359 m² floor plans, four suites with balcony and five parking spaces. The street climbs towards Alto de Pinheiros and nobody here has more than ten storeys — the view is the sunset, and it will not be blocked.

History
Rio Jeribatuba occupies number 418 on Rua Morás, at the foot of the street, where it leaves Rua Mourato Coelho and begins to climb towards Alto de Pinheiros. It was completed in 2000, at the tail end of the wave that turned this street vertical through the 1990s — a wave that stopped for lack of plots, not for lack of demand. It is a single, restrained tower, with a size that Vila Madalena practically does not repeat: nearly 360 m² of private area with four suites. The design authorship, the developer and the builder are not documented in any public source that can be opened and checked and, for that reason, are not credited here.
- Concept: the size of a large house on a low-rise residential street — the whole-family programme without leaving the west side and without moving into Alto de Pinheiros.
- Trivia: Rua Morás is one of the rare streets in São Paulo where practically every building has its own name and a plaque on the façade. Going up: Octto Morás at 238, Cérnea at 280, Rio Jeribatuba at 418, Positano at 506, Chelsea at 542, Terraza Oeste at 558, Mansão dos Pinheiros at 588, Mansão dos Morás at 656, Morada dos Pinheiros at 680, Morada do Alto at 696, Terraza Del Fiore at 782, Campo Verde at 810, Jardim dos Morás at 840 and Palais de Versailles at 900. Rio Jeribatuba is the first name on the climb. Another quirk: at the Post Office the street is called Rua Morás, plain — but the market, the residents and the maps write “Rua dos Morás” so insistently that the two spellings circulate side by side.
Architecture and aesthetics
A single tower built on a 1,205 m² plot, with the low profile that Rua Morás repeats from end to end. The municipal register records the building in two adjoining volumes — one with a footprint of approximately 214 m² reaching 31.01 m, the other of 183 m² reaching 34.19 m —, the staggering that gives the silhouette its setback on the last stretch. Added together, the two volumes cover less than four hundred square metres of slab for apartments of 359 m² of private area: it is the proportion of a building with one residence per floor, with the plan running from façade to façade and a balcony on every suite. The architectural authorship is not documented in any public source and is not credited here.

Vila Madalena: the address
Vila Madalena is the neighbourhood where São Paulo decided one could live well without walking far from home — and Rua Morás is its quiet version. It climbs from Avenida Pedroso de Morais towards Alto de Pinheiros, is residential from end to end, and has local traffic and trees along almost its whole length. Number 418 sits at the foot of the street, a few metres from Rua Mourato Coelho, which puts the cluster of bakeries, schools and corner restaurants within a short walk and leaves the noise of the bohemian neighbourhood on the other side. The underground’s Estação Fradique Coutinho and Estação Vila Madalena handle the city without a car, Parque Villa-Lobos and Parque Alfredo Volpi lie on the Alto de Pinheiros side, and Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima is a few minutes away. On the same axis, further up the street, stands Morada dos Pinheiros.
