Alimonti
The three-generation Italian contracting firm that built much of the high-end real estate in Perdizes, Higienópolis and Santana — more than two hundred projects and 1.2 million square metres, almost always with another company's name on the sign.
Who it is
Alimonti is a São Paulo construction firm of Italian origin. The company itself dates the beginning of its history to 1951, when Rocco Alimonti, newly arrived from Italy, entered the construction industry and took part in the teams that raised some of the city’s vertical landmarks — the Banco do Brasil headquarters building, the Banco do Estado de São Paulo building and the Edifício Itália. In the 1960s, in partnership with a fellow countryman, Rocco founded the family’s first company; the current corporate name, Alimonti Comercial e Construtora Ltda., has been registered with the Receita Federal since 1983. Today the firm is run by the following generations — the institutional portrait shows Antonio Alexandre Alimonti, Rocco Alimonti and Americo Primo Alimonti side by side.
The company works in three distinct roles, and it is important not to confuse them: contractor (hired to execute a third party’s project), builder and developer. Most of the collection falls into the first type — hence the asymmetry that defines the house: Alimonti appears little in the sales material of the buildings it built, because someone else usually signs the launch. It totals more than 200 delivered projects and more than 1.2 million m² built.
Product vision
- Positioning: mid- and high-end residential and commercial buildings in São Paulo, heavily concentrated in Perdizes, Higienópolis, Santa Cecília, Santana and Moema — with a second office corridor on Avenida Angélica and in Barra Funda. It also executes gated horizontal condominiums and houses in Alphaville and on the north coast.
- Differentiators: longevity and repeated partnerships — the firm builds for the same developers decade after decade, and the portfolio’s largest series, the Brasília line for Escritório Brasília de Imóveis in Santana, spans almost thirty years of its work (Classic, Everest, Royale, Caesar, Imperador, New Life, Residence, Exclusive, Excellence, plus the commercial buildings and flats of the same name). The repertoire is declaredly classical and ornamented, with recurring European names — Villagio di Firenze, Piazza del Sole, Place Versailles, Ville Provence, Monte D’Oro, King David, Villa Antônia.
