Heritage Cyrela by Pininfarina

History

From Cyrelai, with design by Pininfarinai (the Italian design house) and architecture by Itamar Berezini, the Heritage is one of the very few buildings in the world bearing the Pininfarinai signature, and the second in the portfolio (alongside the Epici). It is also the second collaboration between the Italian studio and the developer, born of the success of the pair’s first building: the declared idea was that living in a Cyrela building should become synonymous with living inside an icon of architecture and design, with the Pininfarina experience extended to every touchpoint of the home. Anchored in Itaimi, about 400 metres from JKi.

Architecture and aesthetics

Pininfarinai has been designing cars for nearly a century, and the Heritage brings the house’s grammar to the city: the studio describes the design concept as a speedform — the shape given to a body so that air flows over it — and resolves the building through the fluidity of simple lines. The façade’s composition is entirely dictated by the curve of the balconies, which wrap around the tower floor by floor. Making that shell was no trivial matter: Cyrelai and the studio 3D-scanned the building’s digital model and printed a carbon mould to produce each façade piece in fibreglass, numbered for its exact place in the structure — an unprecedented solution for the developer, and the reason the curve reaches all thirty-three floors cleanly. Itaim Bibi: the address

Number 1200 on Rua Leopoldo Couto de Magalhães Júniori falls within the densest triangle of value in Itaimi: Shopping JK Iguatemii about two hundred and fifty metres away, the JKi corporate complex right behind it, and Parque do Povoi a little over three hundred metres away on the opposite side. This is the stretch where the neighbourhood became a showcase — in a few blocks the street gathers much of Itaim’s signature addresses — and where the distances that matter stopped being measured in kilometres: there are two heliports less than two hundred and fifty metres from the gate. Here one does not live near the centre of the equation; one lives inside it.
