History

By Sispari, with architecture by Itamar Berezini, interiors by Kiko Salomãoi and landscaping by Gilberto Elkisi, Altana is presented as a residential building of the highest standard — classical in proportion, modern in spirit — conceived to embrace the view of Ibirapuera Parki from Vila Nova Conceiçãoi.

• Concept: the serenity of classical proportion read in contemporary terms, with the Ibirapuerai view as the protagonist.

Architecture and aesthetics

This is a building that bets on scale and serenity rather than on a gesture of façade — and it is from that restraint that its classical reading comes. Eighteen floors for eighteen families: each full slab is a single apartment, which allows the living areas to occupy, alone, the face turned towards Ibirapuera Parki, barely a hundred metres away. The balcony integrated into the living room is where the project delivers that view; in the duplexes, the double-height ceiling of the social area doubles the span. Interiors by Kiko Salomãoi, of modernist repertoire and refined detailing, and landscaping by Gilberto Elkisi.

Vila Nova Conceição: the address

Rua Afonso Braz is the spine of Vila Nova Conceição: some nine hundred metres that concentrate the street commerce, the patisseries and the restaurants that gave the neighbourhood its gastronomic name — along a stretch where the commercial square metre ranks among the most expensive in São Paulo. Number 25 sits at the low end of that street, one hundred and twenty metres from Ibirapuera Parki — near enough to cross on foot in two minutes, far enough from the stretch where Afonso Braz turns into a thoroughfare. In the other direction the neighbourhood opens towards Moemai: Moema Stationi on Line 5 – Lilac lies eight hundred metres away and Shopping Ibirapuerai nine hundred, which makes this one of the few addresses in Vila Nova where one can choose between the park and the metro without taking the car.
