History

From SISPAR with Trisul, with architecture by Pablo Slemenson, landscaping by Gilberto Elkis and decoration by Ana Maria Vieira Santos, The Place raises two towers in Moema, anchored next to Parque Ibirapuera. With one apartment per floor, it occupies almost a full block, with its prow facing the green of the park.

  • Concept: the two-tower condominium, with one resident per floor and club-level leisure, next to Ibirapuera.
  • Curiosities: the towers are named Canário and Inhambu, and the development has 420 parking spaces.

Architecture and aesthetics

A hundred and seventy-five metres of street frontage is the figure that governs the project. With a frontage like that, Pablo Slemenson didn’t need to stack the programme: he spread 49,815 m² of built area across two volumes, one apartment per slab in each, and left the ground to the club — it’s that slack that allows for a regulation-size clay tennis court and an indoor pool with a twenty-five-metre lane inside a residential condominium. The development’s self-sufficiency was built in as a design decision, not added later: an artesian well and rainwater harvesting. The floor plans run from 406 to 740 m², and a panoramic rooftop terrace tops it off. Interiors by Ana Maria Vieira Santos and landscaping by Gilberto Elkis.

Moema: the address

This address has two streets and no avenue: Canário on one side, Inhambu on the other, both in the Pássaros quadrant, both without commerce and without a through-traffic role. The effect is that the whole perimeter of the block keeps a residential scale — no shopfronts, no loading and unloading, no flow of people just passing through. And what’s closest already belongs to another neighbourhood: the early-years school a hundred and twenty metres away has a Vila Nova Conceição address, and Parque Ibirapuera, two hundred and forty-five metres away, is reached without leaving a resident’s street. Services come next — Estação Moema on Line 5 – Lilac at seven hundred metres, Shopping Ibirapuera just under eight hundred — and supplies, from the area’s two street markets: the Saturday one on Avenida República do Líbano and the Sunday one on Rua dos Canários, both within half a kilometre. It’s the part of Moema you cover on foot and almost never by car.
