History
Tamboré 3 is the third residential development opened by Tamboré SA — the urban development company created in the 1960s to plan the occupation of the plots of the former Fazenda Tamboré, in a movement parallel to that of Alphaville, which was being born just a few kilometres ahead. The success of Tamboré 1, opened in 1988, and of Tamboré 2 drove the third chapter, following the same recipe: large plots, green area treated as site infrastructure, and houses built by the owners themselves. Access is via Avenida Yojiro Takaoka, number 2430, on the Santana de Parnaíba side.
In a plotted development, the milestone date is not the occupancy permit, but the site implementation — and public sources place Tamboré 3 in the wake of the first two without fixing an opening year; for that reason, it is not fixed here.
- Concept: large plot and architect-designed house within a single perimeter, with greenery as a site clause — the same formula that founded the neighbourhood, in its third application.
- Trivia: of the almost 680,000 square metres of the development, over 160,000 are preserved green area — around a quarter of the land that will not be built on. As each house is designed by its own owner, the condominium became, over the decades, an open-air showcase of São Paulo’s high-end architecture firms.
Architecture and aesthetics
A plotted development has no façade — it has a plan. Tamboré 3’s design is urban before it is architectural: streets, infrastructure and road landscaping delivered before the first house, with the preserved greenery stitching the layout together. The aesthetic of the residences came later and came from outside, because each plot is built by its owner: the ensemble’s repertoire is the sum of the firms hired since opening, from the classic to the contemporary horizontal glass-and-stone boxes that dominate the recent wave. What gives the ensemble its unity is not style, but the generosity of the plot and the woodland kept within the wall itself.

Tamboré: the address
Tamboré is the discreet half of the pairing that dominates the high end of São Paulo’s west side. It was born from the same estate that gave rise to Alphaville, grew up alongside it and ended up sharing with its neighbour the shops, the international schools, the private hospitals and the business centre — but it kept an identity of its own: fewer towers, more plots. The neighbourhood is split between Santana de Parnaíba and Barueri; Tamboré 3 lies on the Santana de Parnaíba side, on Avenida Yojiro Takaoka, the same spine that stitches together the Tamboré S.A. developments. The connection to the capital runs via the Rodovia Castello Branco and the Rodoanel Mário Covas, with Shopping Tamboré and Iguatemi Alphaville just minutes from the gatehouse.
